At IslandWood, we believe in taking the time to slow down and recharge. The pace of our day to day lives can be hectic, but quiet moments allow us to connect with others in deep and meaningful ways.
Whether you’re planning a yoga retreat, a weekend of meditation, or a wellness seminar, IslandWood is the perfect backdrop for a beautiful, thoughtful experience. With 250 acres of stunning natural surroundings, comfortable lodging, exceptional service, and artfully-crafted cuisine, we’ll help you create a unique and memorable event.
The revenue created from your event helps fund the immersive environmental education programs we run for thousands of children and teachers each year in the Seattle region.
We offer a variety of beautiful indoor and outdoor spaces to meet your needs. Alongside our Great Hall (perfect for group classes, experiences, and talks) and spacious Learning Studio classrooms, we also have an art studio, two treehouses, a garden complete with a wood-burning oven, a large campfire circle, lovely patios, meadows, trails, a suspension bridge, and a 120-ft canopy tower. Check out a gallery of our event spaces here!
We create menus that showcase local, organic, and sustainably sourced ingredients, including some items fresh from our garden. Our kitchen team specializes in meeting a wide range of dietary needs and preferences with inspiration and creativity so that all guests feel nourished and nurtured.

Our four sleeping lodges combine the comfort of modern accommodations with the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The lodges have a total of 53 guest rooms, each with a private bathroom, and can sleep up to 200 guests. Every lodge has a spacious great room with a fireplace and seating for gathering, game-playing, reading, and relaxing. And all our beds are made up with organic cotton bedding for a dreamy night’s sleep!
If you’re traveling from Seattle, you’ll have a chance to decompress on the picturesque ferry ride to Bainbridge Island before you nestle into the magic of the forest. Once you arrive at IslandWood, hiking, trail running, garden tours, canopy tower climbing, art activities, and yoga are all available right on our property. Learn more about the activities we offer here.
As a nonprofit, all revenue generated from private events help support our environmental education work. By having your event at IslandWood, you’re helping to ensure that all students and schools, regardless of their capacity to pay, can participate in our programs!
