Summer is on its way, and so are the leaves, fruits, and roots of some of the Pacific Northwest’s tastiest plants. Join IslandWood and King County at the Brightwater Education Center in Woodinville as we serve up some knowledge about common local edible plants and some simple, kid-friendly ways to enjoy them. We will learn the dos and don’ts of collecting edible plants, then head out into the forest to learn to identify and harvest what’s in season. Then we will bring it all back to the kitchen to learn some easy recipes that highlight these fresh flavors. For safety reasons, all participants must be at least 8 years old.
COVID-19 note: Beginning March 1, 2022, the vaccine verification requirement will no longer be in effect in King County (the owner of the site). As of March 12th, masks are no longer required in indoor spaces.
