COVID-19 Policies & Logistics

IslandWood Staff Vaccination, Masking & Social Distancing Policy

As of June 1, 2021, all IslandWood staff, volunteers, docents, interns, and graduate students are required to receive the COVID-19 vaccination and provide proof of inoculation, with the exception of those who have received a medical or religious exemption.

All staff, volunteers, interns, and graduate students will wear masks and social distance when interacting with the public.

Policies for Children Attending Day Programs

Along with IslandWood staff, interns, and graduate students, children participating in our education programs will maintain six-foot social distancing at all times, and will wear masks at all times except when eating, drinking, or taking a mask break. Education programs will be held outdoors whenever possible, with children only going inside designated buildings for bathroom breaks, emergencies, or inclement weather such as lightning or high winds.

Policies for School Overnight Program Students, Teachers & Chaperones

With guidance from the Washington State Department of Health, the CDC, and the American Camp Association, we have developed detailed protocols for safely running the School Overnight Program. You can read those protocols here.
