BRIGHTWATER WASTEWATER ENGINEERING CHALLENGE

October 14, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

EPA Student Stewardship Projects

How do the day-to-day choices we make impact the water in our communities? Join IslandWood and King County at the Brightwater Education Center to explore our water systems! Working together with your family, you will use the engineering design process to explore the impacts that humans have on our wastewater system and design your own solution for cleaning water. Learn about the ways you interact with the water cycle, what is being done at Brightwater to clean the dirty water we produce and consider what could be done differently. This event does NOT include a treatment plant tour. Space is limited. Please pre-register to reserve your spot to this free event.

Adult participation is expected. We want families to learn and work together! Although this event is recommended for families with youth ages 6-12, we are open to all ages. Please make a decision about your child’s ability to participate based on the following information: This event involves making observations, following an investigation procedure, and using tools.
