Volunteer Opportunities with Camp

Like kids? Like the outdoors? Come volunteer with camp!

We have opportunities for older learners to gain valuable experience in environmental education through working with our educators and campers.

For undergraduate students, explore our Summer Programs Internship on Bainbridge Island.

For current high school students, check out our Volunteers in Outdoor Leadership (VOL) program in Woodinville and on Bainbridge Island.

Volunteers in Outdoor Leadership
Explore Environmental Education as a High School Student

We are currently accepting applications for the summer 2018 season.

We offer opportunities for rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school to explore education as a career path through our Volunteers in Outdoor Leadership (VOL) program at both campuses. Spend two weeks working closely with our educators and campers to learn teaching techniques for connecting kids with the natural world.

Sessions for VOLs on both our Bainbridge Island and Woodinville campuses are:

  • Session 1: July 2-6, July 9-13
  • Session 2: July 16-20, July 23-28
  • Session 3: July 23-28, July 30-August 3

Summer Programs Internship
Immersive Learning for Undergraduate Students

We are no longer accepting applications for the 2018 season. Check back in January 2019 for more opportunities!

We offer a summer internship opportunity for current undergraduate students on our Bainbridge Island campus. Our Summer Programs Internship provides current undergraduates with a exciting setting to test out their skills in engaging children with nature.

Designed to mirror the experience of a camper, but over a longer period of time, this program provides valuable skills in teaching, behavior management, reflection, and community building. Each Intern is paired with an experienced educator to create meaningful, fun, and unique experiences for children in our day camp programs. Begin the summer by getting to know our forest on Bainbridge Island, then gradually work up to creating your own week-long day camp experience with the assistance of a mentor. Skills in education can translate well to many fields, so a variety of interests and majors are encouraged to apply.

Strong applicants will be creative, curious, and flexible undergraduates or recent alumni hoping to inspire lifelong community and environmental stewardship in children ages 4 through 15.
