Uncover hidden stories of the woods with your senses during this week of observation.  Learn bird language, track deer, and practice your sneaking skills all while working together as a team of naturalists.  Use IslandWood's forest as your training ground on your quest to become a nature detective.

Take your observation skills to the next level as you dive into the science and tools used by zoologists around the world. Set camera traps for coyotes and beavers, study our resident owls and create your own field guide in this camp for budding biologists. 


Masters of the Sky

High above the earth, dinosaurs continue to soar - we just call them "birds" now. Discover your inner bird nerd during this week all about avian adaptations and the remarkable life of our feathered friends. 


Squirmy, Slimy Science

Island Odyssey

This camp is about the journey - not the destination. Learn different techniques for navigating around the wild, and create your own intricate scavenger hunt that explores areas of IslandWood.

Histories Mysteries

Ever wonder what life was like on Bainbridge Island 100 years ago? In this unique camp, travel around the island to uncover its hidden past. Explore some of Bainbridge’s coolest historic spots and discover clues to unravel history’s mysteries.

Dirt to Dinner

Week 3: July 15-19

Dive deep into gardening, harvesting, and cooking in this cool camp for aspiring chefs. Explore how energy is transferred from the sun to soil to seed, and then food back to the earth. Make your lunch each day with ingredients from IslandWood’s forest and garden, and maybe develop some recipes of your own.

Innovators and Engineers

Everyone can make a difference. Explore the amazing ways scientists, engineers, and architects have crafted to create a healthier planet for us all.  We will take a field trip to The Gates Foundation for inspiration. This camp for budding change-makers combines leadership with imagination, as you work as a team to craft ways to make the world a better place.​

Forest to Sound

Week 6: August 5-9

Explore the intricate connections of the Pacific Northwest's ecosystems, from deep within the forest down to the Puget Sound. Search the island for old growth, explore grand forests, and comb our beaches all while practicing real-life science techniques on your quest for knowledge.

Forest to Farm to Table  SOLD OUT!

We're taking our most popular cooking camps to the next level for our veteran and most senior campers.  Explore how sustainable farming can keep our ecosystems healthy, visit Bainbridge Island's iconic and historic farms, and cook with IslandWood's executive chef.  All of this and still time for our favorite adventures on our campus and trails.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

Refund & Cancellation Policy: 

  • Cancellations at least one month before start date of camp receive a full refund minus a $40 cancellation fee per camp.
  • Cancellations 2-4 weeks before start date of camp receive a 50% refund per camp.
  • Cancellations within 2 weeks of start date of camp are not eligible for any refund.
  • Camp registrations are not transferable.  Only registered campers may attend each camp.
