Bryant Elementary was one of the schools included in our pilot program of the School…
If you’ve ever stayed at IslandWood, faced an after-hours emergency, or simply wandered the grounds, chances are you’ve encountered a local legend: Timm Tripp, affectionately known as “The T-Man” (double M, double P).
“The place won’t be the same without you, your impact will be felt for years to come.”
– Mark Becker, IslandWood’s Senior Facilities Manager

Timm’s journey with IslandWood began as a volunteer, but his dedication quickly led to a full-time position. Over the years, he’s donned many hats (with a fondness for berets). From Lodging and Janitorial to Events and Facilities, Timm has been an invaluable asset. He’s the go-to for after-hours emergencies, greeting the Bainbridge Island Fire Department with familiarity and even rescuing the occasional locked-out Grad Student.
For the past 17 ½ years, Timm’s unwavering love for IslandWood has driven his exceptional service. He consistently goes the extra mile, facing any inconvenience with a smile. His tireless dedication and remarkable ability to adapt are deeply appreciated.
His work ethic is unmatched. Timm Tripp is a force within the Bainbridge Island groundskeeping community. Countless times, staff have stumbled upon him after he’s freshly conquered a tangle of thorny blackberries. Leaves cling to his clothes, scratches mark his skin, and his beard bears the evidence of epic landscaping battles. Yet, any concern is met with a cheerful, “Just another day in paradise!”
IslandWood is fortunate that Timm will occasionally visit us as a volunteer again. An institution like ours needs stalwarts like him; he is the rock that supports our efforts. His is the spirit that guides ours by example.
As our Facilities Manager, Mark Becker says, “The place won’t be the same without you, but your impact will be felt for years to come.” We’re so grateful for Timm’s service and wish him the very best in his well-deserved retirement!
