Although we were very much looking forward to welcoming you to Poetry in the Woods this weekend, out of an abundance of caution, we are canceling the event.

Recent King County recommendations aimed at reducing the risk of exposure to COVID-19 have suggested avoiding bringing large groups together. Your safety, and the safety of our staff and community at large, are of the utmost importance to us. While it saddens us to have to cancel a weekend of bringing people together – something we are extremely passionate about doing – we know this is the right decision for all.

What’s next?

• We are rescheduling the event for November 6 – 8, 2020. We would love to have you and can transfer your ticket to that weekend! Please send us an email at [email protected] or call us at 206.855.4315 and let us know if this option would work for you.

• If you’re unable to make the November event, we can issue you a refund. Please send us an email at [email protected] or call us at 206.855.4315 and let us know if you’d like us to issue you a refund.

• As you may know, IslandWood is an environmental education nonprofit and the events we host, like Poetry in the Woods, help fund the programs we run for students and teachers. The cancellation of this event, while absolutely the right thing for your safety, and the safety of our community at large, will have an impact on our financial health. If you’d like a refund for your ticket, we’d be grateful if you’d consider donating a part of your refunded ticket price to IslandWood. This donation would of course be acknowledged through formal paperwork.

We’re disappointed not to be seeing you this weekend and hope we’ll see in November instead!
