Students in our program earn a Graduate Certificate in Education for Environment and Community. Explore the paths you can take after earning your IslandWood graduate certificate.

Earn Your Master’s in Education Degree at the UW

Spend two quarters at the UW College of Education to complete your Master’s in Education. This option is best for professionals seeking leadership roles in the nonprofit or public sector, work as educators or administrators in informal education settings or private schools, or those interested in starting new educational initiatives.

Apply to Earn Your Elementary Master’s in Teaching (MiT) at the UW

Apply to the four-quarter Elementary Teacher Education Program (ElTEP) at the UW and earn a Master in Teaching degree and teaching certificate.* This option is best for professionals seeking teaching careers in public schools, and/or who want to incorporate an environmental or experiential lens to formal education settings.

 

*A separate application and admissions review are required for the MiT program

Enter or return to the workforce as an educator for equity. This option is best for current educators and classroom teachers, or professionals on a teaching track who want to improve culturally responsive and experiential teaching skills
