2022 SUMMER CAMP SAFETY & LOGISTICS

The safety of your children is always of the utmost importance to us. We have carefully reviewed all guidance from the CDC, Washington State Department of Health, Kitsap Public Health District and the American Camp Association in developing our safety policies and procedures for running camps this summer.

The current guidelines can be found here.

Logistics

  • All IslandWood staff, graduate student instructors, and volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19, including all relevant boosters.
  • Outdoors: No masking is required outdoors in most situations. However, we do recommend it in select situations, such if we have a large number of campers sitting together in close proximity.
  • Indoors: Masks are required indoors for all programming. Masks are required in the Dining Hall, except when eating or drinking.

Campus Cleaning and Disinfecting

  • Additional cleaning methods will be employed to reduce risk to campers and staff. Cleaning methods will follow CDC guidance and include increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of communal spaces, shared items, frequently touched surfaces, and restrooms.
