When the days get longer and spring is in the air, we begin to hear more barks, yips, and howls from our island song dogs – coyotes – who also seem to be happy that winter has passed! Dr. Robert Long, Conservation Scientist for Woodland Park Zoo and Bainbridge resident, has studied wild predators for 20 years and currently oversees the zoo’s field research on wolverines, Pacific martens, and other Northwest wildlife.
You’ll learn about coyote ecology and behavior, reproduction, and feeding habits, and how we can safely coexist with coyotes (and other wildlife) here on Bainbridge Island. Bainbridge Island Land Trust will be on-hand to talk about their wildlife-related investigations and habitat protection projects, and you’ll find out how to participate in the zoo’s new urban carnivore project.
There is no need to RSVP or register for this event! We'll see ya there!
