PUBLIC TOUR – JANUARY 12, 2020

January 12, 2020 @ 5:00 am - 8:00 am

Nature might slow down this time of year, but it is certainly not dormant. Moss and lichen are thriving. Inspect these abundant but tiny life forms as you walk the trails, the same trails that become an outdoor classroom for students in our residential environmental program.

A volunteer docent will lead this three-hour walk through our ecologically diverse campus, including a cattail marsh, pond, forest, and ravine, as well as field structures such as a suspension bridge and tree house. In addition to natural history, you will learn about our educational programs and the sustainable design of our buildings. This tour is for adults and teens 15 and up.

  • Wear comfortable shoes. The 2-3-mile walk is moderate (with possible mud, steep hills, and gravel).
  • Wear weather-appropriate clothing; much of the tour takes place outdoors.
  • Water bottles are encouraged, but please no food.
  • We ask that no children younger than 15 years old be brought on the tour. (Infants are welcome.)

We work to ensure that all reasonable accommodations are in place so that everyone can participate and learn during their time on our campus. All indoor spaces and many of our outdoor spaces and field structures were built and are continually maintained to meet ADA code, adhering to WAC 51-50. If you have any questions, please contact us at 206.855.4300.
