How does engineering relate to solving problems in your community? Learn how IslandWood is using the engineering design process to help students investigate local stormwater problems, seek “stakeholders” input, and develop solutions. Then explore with us what is involved in putting student ideas into action including possible real world constraints, practical small-scale solutions and mini-grants that might help out. We'll work together to figure out how our approach is adaptable to different topics and the students in your community.
Lunch and free childcare is included (ages four and up). This IslandWood program has OSPI funding to provide STEM clock hours plus a $125 stipend to public school teachers. Informal Educators are also welcome to join us.
You can sign up for just the morning or afternoon but we encourage you to join us for the full day!
