Festival of Frogs has been CANCELED.
From our event coordinators:
“Hello attendees of Festival of Frogs,
Although this is one of our most popular events of the year, we unfortunately will need to cancel the March 27th event.
We have been asked by King County to cancel all programming at the Brightwater Education Center through the month of March. As part of the County’s response to COVID-19 they have decided to cancel all nonessential gatherings at County sites for the remainder of March.
We hate to cancel these programs, but the safety of students, teachers, staff, and the community at large is our utmost priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out and contact Max Honch at [email protected].”
Spring into action at IslandWood’s Festival of Frogs at Brightwater in Woodinville! Participants will learn about native frogs, their calls, and habitats in an engaging indoor presentation and then head outdoors at dusk to hunt for breeding frogs and their eggs in our frog-filled wetland. Be sure to bring your rain gear, shoes appropriate for a light hike, and a headlamp or flashlight. This event is great for ages six and up, and always sells out, so hop to it! Pre-register to reserve your spot to this fun free event.
Adult participation is expected. We want families to learn and work together! Although this event is recommended for families with youth ages 6-12, we are open to all ages. Please make a decision about your child’s ability to participate based on the following information: This event involves using a 30 minute presentation, off-trail exploration, navigating in the dark, using craft supplies, looking at identification guides, exploring safely near water, respectfully handling and moving around wildlife.
