Optional Talk Overview | “What’s Love Got to Do With It?”
Birds do it. Bees do it. Exactly how is the question. Over one billion years ago life on Earth started reproducing sexually and things got…weird. We’ll journey through the animal, plant and fungi kingdoms and reveal the secret sex lives of some familiar species here on Bainbridge Island and the Puget Sound in a lively and visual presentation. How do fruit flies proposition one another? What reptile bears live young? We’ll uncover the bizarre truth behind courtship ritual, mating techniques and adaptations all happening in your backyard. Bring your curiosity and your sense of humor for this light-hearted, yet scientific soiree!
Dress: Pacific Northwest casual – jeans, flannels, fleeces welcome!
Transportation: For those of you coming from Seattle, ferries leave Seattle at 3:50 and 4:45pm. You can drive your car onto the ferry and park at IslandWood.
Cost: $100 per person includes optional “What’s Love Got To Do With It?” talk, live music, three-course meal, beer & wine, and support of environmental education.
If you can’t make it on February 9th, don’t fret! We have another great Dine & Discover dinner planned for March 29, 2020.
