How are you incorporating your local community into your teaching? Have you ever wondered what neighborhood assets, opportunities, and problems could help make science relevant for your students? In this workshop you’ll learn how you can help students investigate and map their community to support science (and other) learning. Local ecosystems, water flow, patterns, and change over time are some of many possible areas for your mapping efforts. By the end of this workshop you’ll have strategies to use for mapping your school’s community and ideas for how you can use the information gathered with your students.
