DINNER IN THE WOODS
Please join us Saturday, May 3, 2025 for Dinner in the Woods, our annual event to celebrate and support IslandWood!
IslandWood was founded to increase access to environmental learning experiences that can spark a child’s lifelong desire to spend time in, and protect, the natural world. With our thoughtfully designed programs set in a living lab – whether the woods, a river, a garden, a wastewater treatment plant, or a schoolyard – young people deepen their knowledge, capacity, and confidence to make a positive difference in their communities and the planet.
As IslandWood has embarked on our third decade serving the region, our goals are more ambitious than ever. With your support, we’re working to reach 100% of upper-elementary students attending under-resourced schools in WA with nature-based learning. We believe in big visions and big goals – after all, it’s how IslandWood came to be! So please join us May 3, 2025 to celebrate and support what we can make possible for the children of Washington state!
The evening will be held on our Bainbridge Island campus and broadcast online. We’d love to have you participate however is best for you!
Check out all the details about attending the event in-person on our Bainbridge campus or attending online here. Attending online is free!
If you’re attending the event in-person, consider staying the night in one of our beautiful lodges. Guest rooms can accommodate up to six guests. Learn more here.
Give your child the gift of time in nature and bring them to Kids Camp! Our skilled environmental educators will lead games and activities for children age 6 – 16. Kids Camp includes programming, dinner, dessert, and optional campfire activities at the Friendship Circle with parents and family members. There will be s’mores, of course!

IslandWood acknowledges that the land on which we gather is within the ancestral territory of the suqʷabš “People of Clear Salt Walter” (Suquamish People). Expert fisherman, canoe builders and basket weavers, the suqʷabš live in harmony with the lands and waterways along Washington’s Central Salish Sea as they have for thousands of years. Here, the suqʷabš live and protect the land and waters of their ancestors for future generations as promised by the Point Elliot Treaty of 1855. While the majority of our work takes place on Suquamish and Duwamish (dxʷdɐwʔabʃ) land, we also conduct programs on the land of the Snohomish (sduhúbʃ), Puyallup (spuyaləpabš), Muckleshoot (buklshuhls), Skokomish (sqoqc’bes), and S’Klallam (nəxʷsƛ̕ay̕əm) peoples.
IslandWood is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization. Our tax ID number is 31-1654076.
