I am Indian-American and grew up on the land of the Miami and Hopewell First Nations, also known as Columbus, Ohio. I enjoy hiking and making art. Since completing my self-designed Bachelor’s two years ago, I have worked in a natural history museum, higher education, and a nature center in Pennsylvania.

I chose the IslandWood program because of its commitment to justice in education. The education system is far from equity currently, and I believe I can play a part in dismantling white supremacy, the cis-heteropatriarchy, and institutional racism.

In the future, I hope to continue to grow as an inclusive educator and leader. Ultimately, I would love to start my own educational resource center for youth to organize around social and environmental issues in their communities.
