Jared Moravec currently serves as the Deputy Fire Chief for the Bainbridge Island Fire Department and has been with the Department since 2006. Over the past 29 years, he has served as both a paid and volunteer responder for fire departments in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Washington. He first completed basic wildland firefighter training in 1997. Since then, he has served on Type 2 and Type 3 incident management teams in the Pacific Northwest and is credentialed as a Status/Check-In Recorder, Resource Unit Leader, All- Hazards Type 3 Planning Section Chief, and Type 2 Planning Section Chief Trainee. Jared is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer program. He has also earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Protection and Safety Engineering Technology and a Master’s Degree in Fire and Emergency Management Administration, both from Oklahoma State University.
