Day 6 – Flora & Fauna

Day 6 – Flora & Fauna

Calling all Seattle friends and neighbors! Our long-time partner Seattle Public Utilities has launched a new Tree Walk app through the Trees for Seattle initiative!

This app allows users to explore Seattle’s urban forest through a wide variety of engaging Tree Walks. Whether you explore from home or on a walk through your neighborhood, the app will help deepen your understanding of the trees around you and their role in creating a healthier and more vibrant city.

These kinds of observational neighborhood walks are a key component of our Seattle-based Community Waters curriculum. By exploring their local environment, students gain a greater appreciation of the place they live – and an understanding of why it’s so important to take care of it.
