IslandWood Summer Camp

A SUMMER OF UNFORGETTABLE ADVENTURES

A SUMMER OF UNFORGETTABLE ADVENTURES

This summer was one for the books at IslandWood summer camps! It was an absolute joy to meet so many enthusiastic campers who joined us for a season of exploration and learning at our Bainbridge Island campus and King County Public Utilities’ Brightwater Education Center in Woodinville. Both were ideal settings for unforgettable summer adventures in ecosystems such as wetlands, streams, forests, and beaches. From building rafts to forest safaris, meeting animal superheroes, and diving into the world of marine science, cooking, and art – these camps were a whirlwind of fun and discovery.

We were so impressed by the campers’ curiosity, creativity, and willingness to dive into new experiences. Each week brought a unique mix of laughter, learning, and unforgettable moments, such as the joyous laughter during Whale Watch (the goal is to get it balanced with one person stepping on at a time), the awe on their faces when investigating pond critters, and the pride they felt when they successfully built their own natural structures out of branches. Watching the friendships blossom and the skills develop was a true highlight for our dedicated staff.

As we reflect on the summer that was, we can’t help but feel incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share these incredible places with so many wonderful children. It’s been an honor to witness their growth and be a part of their summer memories.

And while we’re still basking in the glow of this summer’s adventures, we’re already buzzing with excitement for what next year will bring!

P.S. A special thank you to our donor community. Your support made it possible for 20 campers to attend IslandWood camps via scholarship assistance!
