Supporting IslandWood

For many of the 3,500 children who will visit IslandWood this school year, the four-day experience will be their first chance to spend extended time in nature. Our unique residential and school-based programs are designed to engage all children by using the environment as a context for learning important concepts in social studies, language, and science. Students learn to inquire, problem-solve, and collaborate while deepening their care for each other and their natural community.

More than two-thirds of the students who will come to IslandWood receive additional financial support beyond our already reduced –rate tuition. Tuition for a student to attend our School Overnight Program is approximately $242, but the actual cost is more than twice that amount. We provide this additional support through scholarship funding enabling some schools to pay as little as $25 per student for their four-day overnight experience. To help reduce the burden on the over 70 schools we serve, charitable contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations help close the gap. We could not provide the assistance they need without your support!
