Vicky Edmonds
Artist Bio:
Vicky Edmonds is a
passionate writer and teacher of poetry in the Seattle area, and has taught
around the country as well as abroad over the last 19 years. She has worked at hundreds of
facilities at the elementary, middle and high school levels, universities, arts
organizations youth associations and women’s and parenting groups. Her teaching focuses on trying to find the deepest and most
authentic parts of ourselves and then growing them out through poetics to bring
our truest voice to the page and to the world. Vicky has been an IslandWood AIR
for 6 years.
Her published books include Inside Voices, used to the dark, once drunk / opening, unpredictable as breathing, lucid moments and the first two volumes in the Writes of Passage series. She has also been published in numerous other books and anthologies nationally, most recently in Sacred Threshold, Crossing the Inner Barrier to a Deeper Love by Paula D'Arcy, therapist to Morrie Schwartz (Tuesdays with Morrie) and The Soul of Success, A Woman’s Guide to Authentic Power by the NY Times bestselling Chicken Soup for the Women’s Soul author, Jennifer Read Hawthorne. Vicky has also compiled and published over 180 books of the poetry of the children and at-risk youth she has taught.
