Jeanne Dodds

Based in Seattle, Jeanne is a multi-talented artist with a particular emphasis on photography, scientific illustration, printmaking and mixed media assemblage. She says that the major focus of her visual arts practice is the human relationship to the environment, and as an artist, uses her work to engage others in critical thinking about nature and our experience of it. Jeanne has had a wide variety of arts teaching experiences with multiple age groups and populations over the last 15 years with such organizations as The Nature Consortium, Coyote Central, Antioch University, and Experience Music Project, as well as Boise, Missoula, Portland, and Frye Art Museums. On the subject of teaching art, she says “I see my role as a teaching artist as a facilitator, with the goal of providing students a technical foundation which fosters and encourages confidence in individual creativity.”
