Summit at IslandWood
An annual event to celebrate the hard work that is being done by students to make a difference in their schools and communities.
Make A Difference Summit at IslandWood
Wednesday, June 1st, 2011
9:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This summit allows students to share their community and school-based community learning projects. It is IslandWood’s mission "to provide exceptional learning experiences and to inspire lifelong environmental and community stewardship." We realize that stewardship and inspiration does not happen only at IslandWood, but also happens in local communities. This is your time to share your work.
This summit is a great opportunity for students and teachers to demonstrate their achievements and provides an opportunity to see what other schools have been doing. By gathering many students together we hope to show the kinds of differences students can make in their home communities.
- Representatives (6-8 students and 2-3 adults) from each school are invited to present their work.
- Presentations can be given by PowerPoint, video, or any other visual to show IslandWood and other schools what they have achieved.
- Presentations should be limited to 10 minutes; time for questions will be provided.
Please join us in celebrating service learning achievements!
Please bring your own lunch. We will provide refreshments and snacks.
We will provide bus transportation on the island. If you drive and park at the Seattle ferry terminal, we will reimburse parking for up to 2 cars.
RSVP or questions to Randy Komatsu, randyk@islandwood.org.
