Frequently Asked Questions about the EEC Program

Q:

I am interested in participating in the EEC Program, but I cannot live on campus. What are my options?

A:

Each year we have a number of students who choose to live off campus and commute to participate in the program. These students are responsible for the base tuition cost and for finding their own off-campus housing. It is highly recommended that students who choose this option live on Bainbridge Island because of the time intensive nature of the program.

Q:

How many students participate in the program each year?

A:

Our current capacity is around thirty students. The class of 2009-10 has twenty nine students and the class of 2008-09 had twenty seven students.

Q:

What is the order of admissions to IslandWood and the University of Washington?

A:

Most students apply to IslandWood by the January 1st or the February 15th deadline. Upon acceptance, they can submit a separate application to the University of Washington by May 1st. Students who wish to apply to the University of Washington, but are unable to do so by this deadline, can wait until November 1st to apply.

Q:

Are there undergraduate course requirements for the EEC Program?

A:

No, our students have a wide variety of undergraduate fields of study and there are no course requirements for admittance to the program.
