Parent LoginWith 255 acres of forested trails, wetlands, and unique outdoor venues, IslandWood has something to offer for every child. Our Summer Camp Instructors are experienced environmental educators with a passion for connecting children with the natural world and the teaching tools to create truly memorable experiences.

We offer half and full-day camps, exploring everything from gardening to wildlife biology to woodland wizardry. For girls entering 4th-8th grades, we also have an incredible week-long overnight camp experience.

Brightwater Day Camps

For campers entering 1st - 3rd grades

Join IslandWood at Brightwater this summer for a fun week of engaging nature exploration and scientific investigation! Learn to use binoculars, collect bugs from the ponds, create art projects to take home, and enjoy hours of fun on the trails!

Our Brightwater Nature Day camps will take place off-site at the Brightwater Center in Woodinville.

Day camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Mini-Naturalist Half-Day Camps

For 4 and 5 year olds, and 6 year olds entering kindergarten

Mini-naturalist half-day camps are a unique blend of educational activities, group games, and art projects for young explorers. These exciting programs engage children’s inherent sense of wonder and curiosity about the natural world and aim to promote a sense of inquiry that will last for years to come.

Half-Day camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., or from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Nature Day Camps

Nature Day Camps

For campers entering 1st – 5th grades

Our day camps bring children outdoors for an active and creative summer experience. Campers will enjoy the many unique features of our site, including miles of trails, a suspension bridge, tree houses, organic garden, and acres of forest to explore. Our staff are experienced environmental educators committed to creating positive memories in nature and building scientific skills in young people. With camps focusing on everything from marine science to cooking to wizards, there’s something for everyone!

Day camps run from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Just For Girls

Just for Girls Overnight Camps

For girls entering 4th-8th grades

These 6 day/5 night experiences focus on empowerment, teamwork, and creativity for girls. Campers will dive into scientific discovery, explore Bainbridge Island’s trails and beaches, and create a powerful community founded in support and appreciation. Camps are led by energetic and compassionate female educators with a love for teaching in the outdoors. Girls will stay in our cozy lodges, with a private bathroom for each room, living room complete with fireplace, and sustainable design features. Meals are prepared by our expert chefs, with an emphasis on local and organic cuisine.

Check-in begins at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 1st

Summer Camp Internships

IslandWood offers a unique summer internship opportunity for adults interested in the art of connecting children with nature. As a Summer Camps Intern, you will work with an experienced field instructor each week to focus on educational techniques for inspiring conservation in young people. Explore management strategies, natural history teaching methods, and arts integration techniques all while living in a community of professional learners.
