2010- Spring Break Programs

Forest Fairy Tales (Sold out!)

Age 4 & 5 year-olds and 6-year-olds in Kindergarten (1/2 day camp)
Did you hear that?  The trees are talking, sharing stories of the forest’s floor and animal folklore.  Discover the forest in a whole new way with new friends and expert instructors.  Buzz like a bee and act like a mouse scurrying up a tree.  Search for gnomes and other magical creatures using your naturalist skills. Forest Fairy Tales introduces you to legends of the forest through stories, songs, puppetry, and art a-plenty!

TIME: 9:00 a.m.-noon OR 1:00-4:00 p.m. (Both sessions sold out.) Please note that if you register your child for both sessions, you will need to pick your child up at the end of the first session at noon, and bring them back at 1:00 for the second session.

Fun in the Forest

Grades 1& 2
Discover fabulous Northwest forests through hands-on exploration and play during this week in the woods.  You will meet trees, discover seeds, and even build a shelter out of leaves!  Gaze at rocks, sand, and soil, and study a worm that twists, turns, and coils.   If you like to dig in the dirt and play in the woods, Fun in the Forest is the camp for you!

TIME: 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Micro-Worlds Art

Grades 3& 4
What does the world look like through the eyes of a dragonfly? How would it feel to explore the forest floor from a slug’s point of view?  We will use microscopes, magnifying glasses, observation skills and, most importantly, our imaginations to find out.  Creative drawing, sculpture, poetry, and music will help us discover and learn about a whole new world.

TIME: 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
