About The Conference

This gathering is intended for people who want to work on healing the deep divides that fragment "we, the people" and imperil democracy's promise. We will focus on practical approaches to helping ourselves and others hold political conflicts in ways that can help renew the quality of our civic conversation and the functioning of our democratic institutions. Our days together will feature compelling ideas, large- and small-group dialogues, poetry, story-telling, and performances by special guest, singer-songwriter Carrie Newcomer. Thoughtful conversation among citizens about democracy and our role in sustaining it is rare. Please join us for a lively and hospitable dialogue about what divides and unites us-and that our collective commitment to a healthy civic community will ripple across our nation at time when it is needed most.
