Arrive at IslandWood anytime between 1pm and 3pm for your walk.
Depending upon the age of your children, the StoryWalk™ should take about 45mins. You may enjoy your IslandWood cookie or a snack you pack at our picnic tables back near the main building at the end - no rush! The special program time of 1-4pm should give you plenty of time to arrive and enjoy the forest and story leisurely.

What is a StoryWalk™?
StoryWalk Projects™ are community programs that have been gaining popularity across the US. This is a self-guided walk through a forest or park where participants will read (or be read to) laminated pages of a children's story staked alongside the trail.
Why Little Buds StoryWalk™?
For the past several years IslandWood's Community Programs has had the Little Buds Storytime event every spring which has been very successful. We wanted to switch it up this year and try something new. We hope you like it!
How is the library involved?
Our local library, the Bainbridge Island Library (KRL), has provided staff support and resources for designing the program. We're proud to partner with our local library and appreciate the support of our librarians as they help us celebrate literacy and getting outdoors at the same time!
Thank you KRL!
-A homemade and delicious cookie will be waiting for you at the end of your walk
-You may arrive to IslandWood anytime between 1-3:00pm and do the StoryWalk™at your own pace. You will have access to the walk until 4:00pm.
The StoryWalk™ Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Vermont Bicycle & Pedestrian Coalition and the Kellogg Hubbard Library.
