Pacific Science Center’s Science On Wheels program (http://www.pacsci.org/) joins us for the day with “Harvesting Science” – bilingual hands-on exhibits that explore how science and agriculture go hand in hand. Science On Wheels planetarium shows featuring an interactive astronomical experience that helps to make sense of the seasons will take place throughout the day. In addition, IslandWood joins in a world-wide effort to bring awareness to the issue of access to safe drinking water. The Dow Live Earth Walk for Water (http://liveearth.org/en/home) will include a 6K course, which represents the average distance that most people in the world have to travel to get to a source of fresh drinking water. Bring along your own jugs and carrying apparatus to experience firsthand what it is like to have to carry your own water. Other arts and educational activities are planned throughout the day on the main campus as well as along the trails.
Admission is free, with a suggested donation of $5/ family.
