Two women come face-to-face with the men who slaughtered their families during the 1994 Rwandan genocide.  Villagers struggle to maintain traditional Chukchi culture while challenged by the changing landscape and increasing isolation. A young hula dancer is torn between the commercialization and the sacred ritual of the dance. These are just some of the films featured in the National Geographic All Roads On the Road Film Festival. All Roads is a National Geographic initiative created to provide an international platform for indigenous and underrepresented minority-culture artists to share their cultures, stories, and perspectives through the power of film and photography. Hosted by the Burke Museum on Friday, February 13 through Sunday, February 15, 2009, the films showcased are a selection of those screened at the National Geographic All Roads Film Festival in Washington, D.C. This year, filmmakers from New Zealand, Rwanda, Russia, East Kurdistan, Myanmar, Bolivia, Iraq, Mexico, and the United States are represented.

Pre-registration is highly recommended as seating is limited. Programming is free; however, participants will be required to purchase admission to the museum for each day of the festival ($8 general/$6.50 seniors/ $5 students and youth (5 & up w/ID)).
