Imaginative Learning In The Woods On Bainbridge Island

With 255 acres of forested trails, wetlands, and unique outdoor venues, IslandWood Summer Day Camps invite children into nature and into their imaginations. Our instructors are experienced environmental educators with a passion for connecting children with the natural world through hands-on exploration that also builds scientific skills. With camps ranging from marine science to culinary arts, there’s something for everyone.

For students entering kindergarten – 8th grade

  • Full-day programs run from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Half-day programs run from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. or 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

  • $40 fee per camp if cancellation over 30 days before camp start
  • 50%  refund per camp if cancellation 15-30 days before camp start
  • No refund per camp if cancellation within 14 days of camp start
  • IslandWood camps are not transferable

You will slog through the bog, traverse our ravine, and bushwack around our pond to discover the inner workings of the forest that lie beyond human eyes. Teen volunteer opportunities with IslandWood's Summer Program

Like kids? Like the outdoors? Want to spend a couple weeks working with both? IslandWood’s Volunteers in Outdoor Leadership (VOL) is an opportunity to test out your skills in connecting young people with Nature, as well as gain valuable experience in education. As a VOL, you will commit to 2 weeks of volunteering with IslandWood’s Nature Day Camps - working with a group of campers between 4 and 12 years old. Each group is led by an experienced educator, as well as a college intern for you to learn from.

 

Upon completion of your time at IslandWood, you will receive a certificate of service for 85 hours toward community service, and a possible reference for future employment.
