Tours

You are invited to register for an informational three-hour walk on our beautiful 255 acres during a scheduled site tour.

The walk will include an opportunity to see our bog, cattail marsh, pond, beautiful forest and ravine. You will also learn about the various sustainable elements of the buildings as well as our educational programs.

Wear comfortable walking shoes - the walk is moderate (with possible mud, steep hills, and gravel); also, you'll be asked to remove your shoes in some of the buildings, so wear ones that can be easily slipped off and on
Wear weather-appropriate clothing - much of the tour takes place outdoors
Water bottles are encouraged; but please no food on the tour
We ask that no children younger than 13 years old be brought on the tour - (small child in a carrier is ok) - sorry, no strollers

Multiple site tours are scheduled throughout the month. There are no site tours on IslandWood holidays. Advanced registration is required.

Pacific Tree Frog

The Pacific Treefrog is the smallest and most common frog in the Pacific Northwest. They live in wet meadows, riparian areas, or far from water in brush or woods. This tiny commonly heard frog is active both day and night. They are very vocal and can be heard most of the year.
