Supporting IslandWood

For many of the 4,000 children who will visit IslandWood this school year, the four-day experience will be their first chance to spend extended time in nature. Our unique residential and school-based programs are designed to engage all children by using the environment as a context for learning important concepts in social studies, language, and science. Students learn to inquire, problem-solve, and collaborate while deepening their care for each other and their natural community.

Tuition for a student to attend our School Overnight Program is approximately $250, but the actual cost is more than twice that amount for their four-day residential experience. To help reduce the burden on the over 75 schools we serve, charitable contributions from individuals, corporations, and foundations help close the gap. We could not provide the assistance they need without your support!

Your support is critical. Your contribution will help us underwrite more than half of our actual programming costs, so that all children, regardless of their families’ ability to pay, can participate in our programs. With your help, we can continue to inspire and excite children with these life-changing educational experiences they will remember forever.
